Poynt Smart Terminal
On the Poynt Smart Terminal (dual-screened device) you’ll locate the power button on the back of the larger, merchant screen. It’s easiest to locate using your left hand.
To Wake the Poynt Smart Terminal
Press down and quickly release (1 sec) the power button on the back of the Merchant-facing screen.
To Power Down or Reboot the Poynt Smart Terminal
Step 1: To power down your device, press and hold the power button behind the merchant screen for 3 seconds.
Step 2: A menu will appear. Select to either Power Off or Reboot the device.
Troubleshooting Tip: It’s often helpful to place the device on the charging dock while rebooting. Make sure that both of the Poynt logos, on the device and on the dock, are facing you and the charging pins are properly aligned. You’ll see a green light in the top right corner of the device indicating the device is charging.
Poynt 5
The Poynt 5 (single-screen) handheld device employs a spring mechanism on the right-hand side to wake, power, and reboot the device.
To Wake the Poynt 5
Step 1: Locate the circle button in the center of your Poynt 5 device. Tap once to wake the screen.
To Power Down or Reboot the Poynt 5
Step 1: To power down your Poynt 5, slide down the springed button on the right-hand side of the device toward the bottom of the device. Hold for 3 seconds. Release.
Step 2: A menu will appear. Select to either Power Off or Reboot the device.
