For a gift business that does not use bar codes, it seem elementary that such a device would be able to simply add a few one off items hit total with tax and then charge.
It would be as easy as using the calculator and having a cash/charge button on the same page.
No need for log, tan, sin, sq rt etc.
A simple business does not need to track inventory when quantities of inventory are low and are discontinued frequently.
