PC8: Card error, please try another card

Hi all,
So, I finally got a spare few minutes and set up Cordova and installed the Cordova Poynt plugin. After a bit of playing around, I got it to install my basic app that just calls Poynt.launchpayment. It launches the payment Window, shows the correct amount, but just displays “PC8: Card error, please try another card”. The same error appears when I open the pre-installed “Terminal” app, enter an amount, and press “Charge”.

Is there a way to get it to not fail? How does one test card transactions and their various responses (like Decline, Partial Auth, Approved, etc)?

Hi Michael,

does this error happen even after you reboot? Is both with chip and MSR cards? Also can you send me your terminal’s serial #?

Hi Dennis,
The error appears before I even insert a card. Just rebooted, still happens. I’ll e-mail you the serial number.

Thanks for the remote-fixed. That solved the problem. I was able to make a charge successfully!

I’m having the same issue on both my terminals - serial numbers P61SCD055GS002489 & P61SCD059GS002480. Are you able to resolve mine remotely as well?

Looks like your device is offline. Please charge it and leave it on and online. I think the battery is completely drained so you may need to hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to have it turn on after it charges on the dock for a little bit.

The keys have been injected.

I guess I got an error while setting up the terminal and the keys aren’t injected. Can you please inject the keys? SN: P61SCD124GS003878

From today morning, i’m getting the problem with device. the apps is throwing an exception as below:

And also, Card reader is not detecting CHIP or Mag Card, if some times reading then either apps throwing error or Device displaying PC8: Card Error. Try another Card.

Hi Dennis,

Apart from the above, the Crad reader Icon which is showing on screen top left corner is flikering active / inactive with tick / cross sign.

Not able to check any thing with card now.
