The latest release for 1.2.8 mentions about Payment bridge for external systems. Can you describe what this is? I was looking for ways to connect to other payment processors/gateways
Payment bridge provides a way to invoke payment flows on the Poynt Terminal remotely. This is basically similar to how a native app on Poynt Terminal can launch the Payment flows (Payment Fragments) using intents. The messages are sent through the Poynt Cloud Messaging infrastructure.
When merchants using an external POS system are ready to charge their customers, the POS system can initiate the payment flow by passing the order details and transaction amount information through a cloud message. By doing this the POS system (or any external system) can automate the transaction processing through Poynt Terminal without requiring the merchant to manual enter information in their Payment Terminals.
What you are looking for is transaction processing customization. Poynt Terminals by default use Poynt Cloud to integrate with various acquirers and processors. If the processor/gateway is not one of them, we have two solutions:
- Work with our business/sales team to figure out how you can integrate your payment processor/gateway with Poynt Cloud, or
- We are working on finalizing a framework in the PoyntOS where a 3rd party transaction processor can be pre-installed on the Poynt Terminal. All card transactions will be routed through that processor instead of default Poynt transaction processor on the device. This would of course depends on various other things too like key injection, device distribution, etc.
Hope that helps. Please reach out to our support team support@poynt.co so they can put you in touch with our sales/business team if you want to understand more from the business side.
cheers,
Praveen
